
He is now being succeeded by his son, Stelios, who grew up in the business and who is a graduate chemist from the University of Crete (2009) and a master Oenologist from the University of Piacenza – Italy (2014).
The founder, Manolis Klados, is a qualified Chemist and trained master Oenologist, with 35 years experience in the industry, who pioneered wine making in the prefecture of Rethymno. The Klados Winery is a small family business, that was started in 1997.
It is served at 8oC – 10oC and accompanies perfectly seafood, meat cooked in white sauce and a wide variety of cheese. Its creamy flavor, the minerality of the wine as well as the balanced acidity can be distincted in the mouth. The aging enforces the mineral character of this wine. Complex aroma of fruits, like citrus and apricot, and notes of minerality complete the bouquet of the wine. Vidiano is the most famous Cretan variety and is considered, not unfairly, as the white "diva" of Crete.īright pale yellow–green colour.
